ABERDEEN TOWNSHIP — The Aberdeen Economic Business Council (EBC) announced the appointment of two local businessmen to the council at its Feb. 11 meeting.
Tom Roman, of Quality 1st Contracting, will join the board along with Steve Marcinkiewicz, of PNC Bank, who was elected to serve as treasurer.
Roman is the principal of Quality 1st Contracting, which is in the process of relocating from Perth Amboy to the former 84 Lumber site on Route 35.
Marcinkiewicz is vice president and manager of the new PNC branch at Lloyd Road and Route 34.
Carmine S. Visone was re-elected chairman of the EBC at the group’s January meeting.
At the meeting, Ron DeLuca, executive vice president at retail real estate brokerage firm R.J. Brunelli & Co., discussed the state of retail real estate in Aberdeen and surrounding communities, future development opportunities, and steps the EBC and township can take to help landlords fill vacancies in existing properties.
The group began the process of establishing a database of all Aberdeen businesses that can be used by the EBC, police and fire departments, and the governing body.
The Aberdeen Economic Business Council was formed in 2012 to improve relations with the business community, explore opportunities for new commercial or industrial development, and help attract new businesses to town.
