Greater Media Newspapers’ recent article, “Triggering Business,” about firearms sales being a booming business was terrific because it showed what no other newspaper in New Jersey would print, on what a gun-buying frenzy has been started over already ridiculous laws forced upon lawabiding gun owners.
If this is happening in New Jersey, think what must be going on in other states. Everyone has to be educated on the safety of firearms instead of passing more laws; the worst contributors to gun control are the politicians and gun grabbers, they have no idea about the laws they want to pass.
An example of that is a law submitted stating that a person who has ties or belongs to a terrorist organization will not be able to purchase a firearm. Are you for real? Do you think a person affiliated with terrorism is going to purchase a weapon from his local retailer? The person who thought that one up should undergo a psychiatric evaluation, really. All these gun buy-back programs they are advertising — do you really think the bad guys are giving up these weapons?
For every 1,000 guns that (officials) say they are taking off the street, there are tenfold more that are still out there that they don’t tell you about. As always with government, this is a numbers game; the better the numbers are, they can show the public that something is being accomplished by all this.
I always wondered about turning in weapons with no questions asked. What happens if that weapon was used in murders or robberies? Does that mean the evidence and the perpetrator just disappear because of the turn-in program? It is time for everybody to wake up to gun control. It does not work and it is a big snow job.
