ROBBINSVILLE —The township recognized some of its youth as winners of the “Keep it Local, Robbinsville” art contest.
Students from all three levels of education — elementary, middle and high school — were asked to create posters that they believed best illustrated the message of “Keep your Money Where your Heart is – Keep it Local Robbinsville.”
Ashley Roberts, first grade of Sharon Elementary School; Kaylee McEvoy, a sixth grader from Pond Road Middle School; and Allison Kroepfl, a sophomore at Robbinsville High School, were selected from over 50 entries.
The winners were chosen based on a viewer poll on the “Keep it Local, Robbinsville” Facebook page.
Each winner will be presented their prizes, which include a pizza party and other gifts donated by locally-owned businesses including V.C. Salon, within the next few weeks.
Mayor David Fried was pleased to praise the students for their efforts.
”Robbinsville Township has embarked on an effort to encourage residents to shop locally and use local vendors for the services they use,” Mayor Fried said. “We are excited about the launch of this program to keep businesses, residents and local charities all supporting each other and all the students did a beautiful job.”
The township’s keep-it-local effort will officially launch in June at Robbinsville Community Day.
The art contest winners’ posters will be used to promote the program and will be displayed in local businesses, buildings and will be used online for promotions and to advertise the program.
The program’s website will launch this month as well. Stay tuned for more updates on this program and for the exciting promotions and activities to come.
