A caller at 1:35 p.m. April 22 said a suspicious tow truck entered her South 5th Avenue driveway and tried to remove her vehicle. No truck description was available. A patrol officer spoke with the caller and checked the area.
A South 18th Avenue caller reported at 1:57 p.m. April 23 that an unknown animal had defecated on his front porch. Patrol officer arrived, confirmed the incident and advised the man of his rights.
A Quick Chek employee told police at 10:47 a.m. April 24 that Jorge Nunez of Manville was on the store lot after being told he was not wanted there. Patrols checked but could not find him. At 11:20 a.m. Patrolman William Sampson saw Mr. Nunez, 31, try to go into Quick Chek, after being given a trespass notice. Mr. Nunez was charged with defiant trespassing and resisting arrest. Bail was set at $3,000 and he was lodged in the county jail.
A Bernardsville man at 10:48 a.m. April 25 reported for the record that he had lost his brown leather Tommy Hilfiger wallet between 9:50 p.m. and midnight April 21 at the Reading Cinema on North Main Street. The wallet had $3 in cash, debit and credit cards, a Paraguay driver’s license and an immigration worker’s card.
A Magna Lane, Hillsborough, woman reported at 2:29 p.m. April 25 that a suspicious man was at an unoccupied residence near home and was in the area yesterday. The man was described as tall, thin, curly haired and wearing an orange-striped shirt, green hat and round glasses. Lt. John Crater saw the man on North Street, but he fled on foot.
A caller at 11:19 a.m. Friday reported a group of small ducks fell into a storm drain on South 12th Avenue and West Camplain Road. Animal control was notified.
The manager of Reading Cinema called at about 3:15 p.m. Saturday and said that about an hour earlier two suspicious people entered the movie theater and began to pray in the hallway. Police could not find the two people.
A North 4th Avenue man called at 8:02 p.m. Sunday and said the front door was open on an abandoned house across the street. Police found the house empty, but no forced entry.
