PRINCETON — A Superior Court judge on Monday reduced the bail by more than half for two 21-year-old men charged with sexually assaulting two teenage girls, including one from Cranbury, in Mountain Lakes Preserve more than a week ago.
Bail for Brian Espina-Martinez and David Stevens-Parker was brought to $75,000 each, down from $250,000 when they were arrested April 13 for the alleged offense earlier that day.
As a condition, Judge Robert Billmeier said the two men cannot have any contact with either victim, ages 15 and 16, should they post bail, said Casey A. DeBlasio, a spokeswoman for Mercer County Prosecutor Joseph L. Bocchini Jr.
The two have been charged with sexual assault and serving alcohol to a minor, as both girls “reached a level of intoxication” before they were assaulted, Princeton police have said. Mr. Espina-Martinez also is charged with endangering the welfare of a minor.
Mr. Espina-Martinez is from Princeton, while Mr. Stevens-Parker is from Montgomery, police have said.
