JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST — Brittany Snodgrass went missing yesterday after departing from her school bus.
”Witnesses say that the last time she was seen was approximately 3 p.m. when she got off that bus,” said David Carbajal, community relations noncommissioned officer in charge of the Joint Base McGuire-Dix Lakehurst Public Affairs Office, on Thursday.
Brittany was last seen on Ash Street, which is located in the southwest portion of the base near Dix Housing, where the 13-year-old lives with her family. The area is near Pemberton and Brown Mills in Burlington County.
The Air Force base of McGuire-Dix Lakehurst is also known as McGuire Field.
Brittany has straight brown hair. She is 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 95 pounds.
She attends a school off base, said Lori Flynn, of the Public Affairs Office.
Mr. Carbajal said Brittany was riding a district school bus. However, he did not have more information regarding Brittany’s school as of press time.
The Register—News has learned that Brittany is enrolled at Northern Burlington County Regional School District.
Middle school Principal Andrew Kearns was unavailable to comment on Thursday by the deadline of the report. The Register-News was also unable to reach Superintendent James Sarruda.
The names of Brittany’s parents were unavailable as was her name as of press time.
”We cannot confirm how long they have actually been on the base,” Mr. Carbajal stated.
A party searched for Brittany last night, including members of the 87th Security Forces Squadron, which briefed volunteers from the Neighborhood Watch at the joint base.
The search party went door-to-door search for Brittany, Mr. Carbajal said. It formed around 9 p.m. May 8 and ended shortly before midnight last night.
Mr. Carbajal said the base was working with local and state agencies to find Brittany’s whereabouts. He urged anyone with information to call authorities.
Brittany is still missing,” said a message Thursday morning on the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst Facebook page. “She is believed to last be seen in Browns Mills.”
The Register-News was unable to confirm the color of her eyes by this report. On Facebook her eye color is described as blue and in another post, as green.
”I am her mother and I want to thank the police officers and everybody who came out and search for her last night, and for all your prayers. Please keep your eyes open,” read the Facebook post.
