Mr. Cole, 83, of Freehold Township, formerly of Millstone Township and Howell, died April 19, 2013, at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune. Prior to retiring, he was employed as a motor vehicle operator at McGuire Air Force Base, Wrightstown. He was in the U.S. Army and served as a combat infantryman during the Korean War. He was awarded the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal with two Bronze Stars and the National Defense Service Medal, among others. Mr. Cole was predeceased by three sisters and three brothers. Surviving are his wife, Kathryn H. Cole; and a son, William J. Cole, of Howell. A funeral service was held at Immanuel Bible Church, Howell, followed by interment in the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle Veterans Cemetery, Arneytown section of North Hanover. Memorial donations may be made to Immanuel Bible Church. Arrangements were by the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, Freehold Township.
