Manville senior citizens will meet with Manville High School Honor Society members Thursday, May 16, for a gardening party, including educational sessions on plants and flowers, making fruit kabobs, garden-themed crafts and planting flowers to take home.
The Manville Senior Center in Fire Company No. 1 at 20 S. Third Ave. is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
A suggested lunch donation of $1.50 is recommended for individuals age 60 and older. The cost of lunch for those younger than age 60 is $5.35. Call 908-369-8700 before 10:30 a.m. the day before to make a lunch reservation.
Transportation is available for those who do not drive.
Bingo is played every Wednesday at 11:15 a.m.
Birthdays are celebrated the fourth Wednesday of the month.
A walk and chair exercise class is sponsored by the Manville Recreation Department every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Creative movement exercises are led Wednesdays from 10:15 to 11 a.m. An aerobic chair exercise class is sponsored every Monday and Wednesday from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m.
There will be a healthy bones exercise class every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Advance registration is required; a doctor’s note is needed for class.
Tai chi is held every Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Advance registration is required.
