JOINT BASE MCGUIRE-DIX-LAKEHURST — A 13-year-old girl has been found safe after going missing yesterday afternoon.
The New Jersey State Police found Brittany Snodgrass, the missing 13-year-old military family member, at approximately 11 a.m. today, according to the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst Facebook page.
She was located near the Red Lions Barracks State Police Facility in Southampton, New Jersey, when a driver phoned the barracks to report a young girl walking along Route 206, the post stated.
Brittany is in good health and has been reunited with her family, the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst Facebook page message said, adding that additional details would be released later on.
”Witnesses say that the last time she was seen was approximately 3 p.m. when she got off that bus,” said David Carbajal, community relations noncommissioned officer in charge of the Joint Base McGuire-Dix Lakehurst Public Affairs Office, on Thursday.
Brittany was last seen on Ash Street, which is located in the southwest portion of the base near Dix Housing, where the 13-year-old lives with her family. The area is near Pemberton and Brown Mills in Burlington County.
A search party looked for Brittany last night, including members of the 87th Security Forces Squadron, which briefed volunteers from the Neighborhood Watch at the joint base. It formed around 9 p.m. May 8 and the search ended shortly before midnight.
The search party went door-to-door, Mr. Carbajal said.
