EAST BRUNSWICK — The East Brunswick Education Foundation (EBEF) recently announced two grants.
Frank Noppenberger, the East Brunswick High School athletic director, received a mini-grant from the EBEF for purchasing books. Noppenberger is planning to enhance the training of sports team captains by introducing required reading. The books will help with leadership education by introducing the students to positive role models and leaders. The book will remain in the department to be used each season.
Tara Corcoran-Clark and all third-grade teachers and students at Lawrence Brook School also received a mini-grant from the EBEF. The funds will be used to purchase books and art materials so that third-graders can create artwork and sculptures, as well as write poetry and essays, in the style of famous artists, writers and poets they have studied.
At the end of four weeks of working on the project, the students will share their creations with other students in the school.
