Mrs. Polos, 61, of Highland Park, died May 16, 2013. She was born in Manhattan, N.Y. before the family established roots in New Brunswick and then Highland Park, where she lived most of her life. She was a longtime Middlesex County employee of the county counsel’s office. Before her employment with the county, she was employed by the State of New Jersey and was assigned to the Superior Court system. Prior to entering the public sector, she had a long private-sector career handling operations for Polygram Records, prior to joining the Van Heusen Corporation. She is survived by her brothers, Dr. Peter Polos and his wife, Erin, and Middlesex County Freeholder H. James Polos and his wife, Rita; six nieces; and many cousins. A viewing was held at Selover Funeral Home, North Brunswick. Funeral Services were held at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Piscataway, with Interment at Van Liew Cemetery, North Brunswick. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the St. George GOYA, 1101 River Road, Piscataway, NJ 08854, for a youth-related foundation to be established.
