TINTON FALLS — Garden beds at the Tinton Falls Community Garden are still available and ready for planting for the 2013 growing season.
This spring marks the fourth year for the garden, located behind the historic Crawford House at 750 Tinton Ave.
A limited number of plots are still available to residents who would like to grow their own organic produce, according to a press release.
Many spring crops are already in the ground, and summer vegetables will be ready to plant in the coming weeks.
Residents from throughout the borough take part in this community-based initiative, with each participant having space to grow and harvest fresh vegetables. Members, who range from experienced gardeners to beginners, tend their own plots and also participate in occasional workdays as needed to maintain the overall garden area.
Residents of Tinton Falls who are interested in joining in the effort can download the application form and instructions from tintonfalls.com, under the “Community” section.
Plots are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
