Summer reading clubs’ registration has begun at the Hillsborough Public Library.
Reading clubs include the “Read With Me Club” (up to entering kindergarten), “Dig Into Reading” (entering grades K-5), the “Beneath the SurFace” Teen Club (entering grades 6-12), and the “Groundbreaking Reads” Adult Club (ages 18 and older). There will be a variety of fun and interesting programs, trivia questions and raffles all summer long.

• ’’Adult programs (registration required):
• Zumba – A six-week series! As long as you’re moving and having fun, there is no wrong way to Zumba. Bring water and wear comfortable clothing. Mondays, June 3, 10, 17 and 24 at 7 p.m.
• College applications — Parents, caregivers and students in grades 9-12 are invited to hear Susan Alaimo cover how to choose colleges, strategies to increase chances for acceptance, PSAT/SAT preparation, scholarships and financial aid. Attendees will receive a discount coupon towards a prep course offered at the Municipal Building. Tues., June 4 at 7 p.m.
• Afternoon movie — “Jack Reacher,” starring Tom Cruise and rated PG-13, will be shown Wed., June 5, at 1:30 p.m.
• A View of the Superstorm — Columnist Mark DiIonno and reporter Amy Ellis Nutt covered Superstorm Sandy for the Star-Ledger from the beginning and are following reconstruction efforts. Hear from them on Friday, June 7, at 7 p.m.
• Book discussion — The featured book of the Friends of the Library discussion is “Sutton” by J.R. Moehringer. Tues., June 11, at 7:30 p.m.
• Homeopathy and holistic nutrition – Elizabeth Jannuzzi, a certified holistic nutritionist, will show how to prevent and eliminate allergies, boost the immune system and lose weight by tapping into the curative properties of nature. Healthy snacks will be served. Wed., June 12 at 7 p.m.
• History program — “Failure at Gettysburg: 15 Decisions that Doomed the Confederacy” and led to the devastating loss of initiative and manpower at the Battle of Gettysburg will be presented by historian Glenn LeBoeuf Thursday, June 13, at 7 p.m.
• Friday night movie — “Silver Linings Playbook,” starring Bradley Cooper, Jennifer Lawrence and Robert De Niro and rated R, will be shown June 14 at 7 p.m.
• Book Discussion Group — “Blood Meridian,” Cormac McCarthy’s epic novel of America’s westward expansion will be discussed. No cost to attend, but registration is required. Refreshments will be provided. Mon., June 17, at 1:30 p.m.
Here are programs for youngsters. Registration is required.
• Tail Waggin’ Tutors (grades K-4 only) Each registered child will get 10 special minutes practicing reading skills while Xena, a Therapy Dog International-certified dog, listens. Online registration is not available; call or stop by the Children’s Desk. Arrive early; if you are late, you will lose your spot. Mon., June 3, at 4 p.m.
• First Look Books (grades 6-12) —Get a sneak peek at new teen titles before they hit the shelves, tell us what you think and take one home. Mon., June 3, at 5 p.m.
• Baby Songs (newborn to 24 months) — Spend time making music with your little one. Older siblings will not be allowed into this program. Fri., June 7, at 10 a.m.
• Garden club craft (grades 2-5) — Join the members of the Neshanic Garden Club to create a toad house. Wed., June 19, at 4 p.m.
• Days of Knights (entering K to grade 5) — “Dig Into Reading” summer kickoff means a knight in shining armor is coming to the library. Sir Kenneth and his squire will re-enact a classic medieval fairy tale. Kids will learn about knights, see a sword fight, try on real armor and take pictures with performers. Thurs., June 20, at 7 p.m.
