Keep Middlesex Moving Inc. presented 25 Middlesex County companies with the prestigious 2013 NJ Smart Workplaces Award at its annual meeting on May 22.
The award honors companies for their outstanding achievements in creating programs that provide and promote commuting alternatives for their employees, thus reducing traffic and congestion and improving air quality.
Platinum-level recipients were Rutgers University, IEEE, the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey, Johnson & Johnson Healthcare Systems, Edison Township and Johnson & Johnson.
Gold-level recipients were the Hyatt Regency New Brunswick and Firmenich Inc.
Silver-level recipients were Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and the Borough of Metuchen. Bronze-level recipients were Greater Media New Jersey, PRAB, the Pines Manor in Edison, the North Brunswick Senior Center, the Middlesex County Regional Chamber of Commerce, South Brunswick Township, Magyar Bank, Middlesex County, Hoagland Longo Moran Dunst & Doukas, Granville Y. Brady Jr., the State Theatre, Plainsboro Township, Woodbridge Township and Double Tree Hotel.
Additionally, Woodbridge Township received the 2013 Safe Route to School Bronze Award based on its commitment and involvement in the Safe Routes to School program. Woodbridge was one of 58 Safe Routes to School awardees from around New Jersey.
