Programs for children at Middletown library

The Middletown Township Public Library at 55 New Monmouth Road is offering several programs for children during June. Preregistration is required for each program.

“So You Want to Be a Chef?” for children ages 6-9 will be held at the children’s program room on June 6 and June 20 from 4- 4:40 p.m. Children will learn basic culinary skills and should dress for a mess.

“Confetti Soup” for children ages 4-8 will be held at the children’s program room on June 10 from 4-4:30 p.m. Children will measure and layer a bean soup mixture to be cooked at home. Please inform the librarian if your child has food allergies.

“Read to a Dog” for independent readers in grades K-5 will take place in the children’s quiet reading area on June 11 from 7-8 p.m. and June 19 from 4-4:45. Children will read for 10 minutes to a certified therapy dog.

“Tween Tech Time — Digital Comic Books” for children in grades 4-6 will be on June 12 from 4-4:45 p.m. With special computer instruction and hands-on training, tweens will learn how to use the Marvel Comics website to create original comic books.

“Lego Family Free Play” for children in kindergarten and up will be held at the community room on June 12 and June 26 from 6- 6:45 p.m. Bring your own Legos or use those provided to share and create with other children. Parents must stay with their children.

“Fuzzy Carnival Paddleball Crafternoon” for children ages 4-9 will take place at the children’s program room on June 13 and June 17 from 4-4:30 p.m. Children will color and decorate a paddleball toy and should dress for a mess. Please inform the librarian if your child is allergic to latex, the material of the ball. Please choose one session.

“Mad Science Mania — Egyptology” for children in grades 4-6 will be on June 13 from 7-7:45 p.m. Tweens will use their hands in an archeology activity. Please inform the librarian if your child has food allergies.
