MANALAPAN — A resident of Manalapan sustained a compound fracture to her left leg as she attempted to break up a fight at the clubhouse at the Knob Hill golf course and country club, Route 33, on the evening of May 23.
No charges were filed against the participants in the brouhaha.
According to information provided by the Manalapan Police Department, at 11:20 p.m. officers responded to the country club clubhouse for a report of a fight in progress. Upon arrival, the responding officers determined that a verbal dispute had escalated to the point that two bar patrons were pushing each other around.
During the confrontation, the wife of one of the men involved in the altercation was attempting to break up the scuffle and fell to the ground as she became entangled with the two brawlers.
Police said the 52-year-old woman sustained a compound fracture to her left leg and was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Neptune, for treatment. Her injury was ruled to be accidental after police reviewed statements from involved subjects and witnesses.

On May 26 at 12:27 p.m., officers responded to a report of a theft at the Englishtown Auction Sales, Wilson Avenue. Police said a 47-year-old man from West Keansburg reported that his wallet was removed from his unlocked vehicle sometime between 9 a.m. and noon. The wallet contained personal papers and identification.
On May 24, a 55-year-old female resident of Sheppard Way reported that a diamond necklace valued at $5,000 was missing from her home. Police said the resident informed them the necklace went missing at the same time a cleaning service cleaned her residence.
On May 23 at 8:30 p.m., officers responded to Joseph Street in reference to a vehicle burglary. A 50-year-old resident reported that his vehicle had been burglarized on three occasions from April to May by unknown individuals. The items removed were valued at $275, according to police.
On May 5 at 5:47 p.m., police responded to a residence on Forman Lane for a theft of a child’s bicycle. The resident of the home reported that his daughter’s pink bicycle with a white basket was taken from the curb line at about 5:30 p.m.
On May 19 at 10:22 p.m., a resident of Center Drive was home with her daughter when an unknown individual smashed the rear basement window in an attempt to gain entry into the home.
The broken window caused the home’s security system alarm to sound, which is believed to have scared away the suspect. No entry was gained to the residence. Center Drive is the access road that leads to a residential development off Route 9 south, betweens Gordons Corner and Taylors Mills roads.
