BURLINGTON CITY: Police: Cab driver murdered

Police found the body of a 49-year-old Trenton resident near the intersection of Route 130 North and York Street early Sunday morning and have ruled it a homicide.

   BURLINGTON CITY — Police found the body of a 49-year-old Trenton resident near the intersection of Route 130 North and York Street early Sunday morning and have ruled it a homicide.
   The Burlington County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified Larry Hamilton as the victim of a homicide, according to a press release from Burlington County Prosecutor Robert D. Bernardi and Burlington City Police Chief Anthony Wallace. No arrests have been made.
   Burlington City police responded to the report of a taxicab parked on the side of the road near the intersection on the morning of June 16. Mr. Hamilton had been driving the cab as an independent operator, leasing it from Yellow Cab company in Trenton, according to police.
   ”This is a joint investigation with the Burlington County Police Department,” said Joel Bewley, public information officer for the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office. “As with any investigation, it is very thorough and detailed and will look at every possible component in order to make an arrest.”
   The Prosecutor’s Office would not release additional details about the circumstances surrounding Mr. Hamilton’s death.
