Carnival: Manville Youth Athletic League Carnival sponsors rides, games, food and music through Saturday, 6-11 p.m., at Gerber Field, Duke’s Parkway. Beer truck and MYAL pizza/sugar frittes. Bracelet nights, where people pay one price for unlimited rides, will be on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. The carnival allows the club to help continue offering football, cheer and baseball programs to youngsters.

Summer swimming: Borough pools open today. Pool badges are on sale through the recreation office.

Farmers market: Starting today, the weekly market runs on Fridays, 1-6 p.m., bringing fresh fruits and vegetables to Main Street sidewalks between Rosalie and North Orchard streets. Rain or shine. Anyone who would like to sell at the market may call 908-722-0121.

Slavic dinner: St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church monthly dinner, 4-7 p.m. in the St. Mary Parish Center, 1900 Brooks Blvd., Hillsborough. $12 for adults (ages 9 and up) and $5 for children (8 and younger) and includes all-you-can-eat pirohi, stuffed cabbage, kielbasa and sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, salad, desert and beverage. Hours at Borough Hall: There is a change from April 1 to Sept. 1. Offices will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Mondays, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Fridays. On Tuesdays through Thursdays, the borough hall will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Recreation office hours: Monday, noon to 7 p.m.; Tuesday, 11 a.m to 5 p.m.; Wednesday, noon to 5 p.m., and Thursday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed on Friday. Recreation information line: 908-725-9478, ext. 119.
