If you are like most of us, there is always something that needs to be done around the home. Too often the job seems beyond our ability and we are forced to hire someone or put off doing the job altogether. Good Shepherd Church has come up with a way to help. Fortunately, there are a number of people in our area that are willing to teach basic skills. We will be offering free Skills Building workshops periodically through the year to the community. Please invite your friends and neighbors.
The next workshop will be “How to care for your power equipment and lawn like a Pro”, led by Bob Day, a Lincoln Tech professor and by our own Master Gardener Judy Pfister. Free and open to the community. Remember, all are welcome.
During the 90-minute class, Bob and Judy will cover:
· How to get and keep your power equipment in top shape
· Some of the repairs you can do yourself
· How to start a problem engine
· How to use your mower and trimmer
· Basic equipment maintenance
· How to properly store the equipment at the end of the season
· Best practices in using equipment
To get really good results you need to understand what materials to use, the proper preparation and the techniques to get a professional looking results. They will demonstrate techniques, tools, and material.
To register, call the church office (908) 685-1660 or send an email to [email protected]. If you are interested in leading a workshop, or have a suggestion for a future workshop, please email [email protected]
Watch for upcoming workshops: “Repairing and patching walls for painting”, and “Basic Electrical” about replacing outlets, switches, ballasts, and light fixtures.
