MONTGOMERY – A three-car crash involving mostly teenagers last Thursday resulted in four reported injuries, leaving three in the hospital late that afternoon.
A 17-year-old Belle Mead boy was driving his 2001 Acura on Belle Mead-Griggstown Road at about 5:36 p.m. on June 27, according to police.
While making a left turn onto Green Avenue at the intersection, he turned in front of Sarah Takla, 19, of Belle Mead, who was driving a 2002 BMW westbound on Belle Mead-Griggstown Road, police said.
The front of Ms. Takla’s car ended up hitting the passenger side of the juvenile’s Acura, causing the Acura to then hit a 2001 BMW, operated by a 16-year-old Belle Mead juvenile that was stopped at the intersection on Green Avenue, according to the report.
The 17-year-old boy reported wrist pain from the crash, Ms. Takla reported neck and back pain, and a 13-year-old passenger in Ms. Takla’s car suffered a facial injury.
Police said that all of the victims were taken to the Princeton University Medical Center at Plainsboro. A second 9-year-old passenger in Ms. Takla’s car was reported to have a chest injury, but was not taken to the hospital, police said.
All three cars were towed from the scene.
The 17-year-old boy received a summons for failing to yield the right of way at an intersection, according to police.
