Fireworks will be launched from the Plainfield Country Club in Edison at 9 p.m. July 3.
The Tingley Lane side of Bishop Ahr High School, 1 Tingley Lane, Menlo Park, will provide an unobstructed view of the fireworks, which can be seen over the treetops. The location is usually crowd- and traffic-free. The rain date is July 5.
The area of the fireworks is the location of the Battle of Short Hills, which took place on June 26, 1777. The event is one of the few Independence Day fireworks displays on a Revolutionary War battlefield.
