They earn honors at schools far and wide
James Lorenz of Hillsborough graduated from State University of New York Maritime College with a bachelor of engineering degree in marine engineering. He also earned U.S. Coast Guard Merchant Mariner credentials, including 3rd Assistant Engineer and advanced marine fire fighting. He is working as a marine engineer for a shipping company on the Great Lakes.
He graduated in 2009 from Hillsborough High School.
Anthony David Giralo of Hillsborough earned his master’s degree in engineering management from the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H., on June 9. Anthony is a 2007 graduate of Hillsborough High School and a 2011 summa cum laude graduate of Lafayette College in Easton, Pa.
Anthony is the son of Kim and Tony Giralo. He is currently employed by Langan Engineering in Elmwood Park.
Megan Goldschmidt, a 2009 graduate of Hillsborough High School, has earned her bachelor of arts degree in journalism from Ithaca (N.Y.) College, N.Y. Based on her 3.5 GPA, she achieved the honor of graduating cum laude. She is working as a reporter and journalist at the New Jersey Hills Media Group, based in Bernardsville.
Allison Rusignuolo of Hillsborough graduated May 18 with a bachelor of science degree in fashion merchandising and retail marketing from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, R.I. She was also named to the dean’s list for the spring semester.
Marie E. Lazar of Hillsborough was awarded a bachelor of arts degree in anthropology on May 10 from East Carolina University in Greenville, N.C.
She minored in history and earned a certificate in forensic anthropology. While attending ECU, she was a member of Tau chapter of the Phi Sigma Pi national honor fraternity, Omicron Delta Kappa national leadership honor society and Lambda Alpha national anthropology honor society.
In August, she will join Disney’s paid internship college program for undergraduates or current-year grads. She will be working in Orlando, Fla., and she’s assigned to merchandising.
