Employees of Affinity Federal Credit Union in Middletown are hosting a drive to collect monetary and food donations through July 31 to support Project PAUL in Keansburg. Residents are encouraged to drop off donations of nonperishable food items, clothing or money at the branch located at 1860 Rt. 35, Middletown.
Project PAUL was founded in 1980 as part of the community outreach ministry of St. Ann’s Parish, Keansburg.
The early work of Project PAUL centered on the establishment of a food pantry, serving approximately 25 local families, and a thrift shop. The project expanded through the early 1980s, adding services and programs to meet the increased needs of the community.
“We have a longstanding relationship with Project PAUL, and our members and employees are very excited about being able to assist them with the great work they’re doing in our community,” said Filipa Clough, Affinity Federal Credit Union’s Middletown branch relationship manager.
Project PAUL serves the Bayshore area of Monmouth County, including Keansburg, Aberdeen, Atlantic Highlands, Fair Haven, Hazlet, Highlands, Holmdel, Keyport, Little Silver, Matawan, Middletown, Monmouth Beach, Rumson, Sea Bright, Shrewsbury and Union Beach.
