New Programs Available for Fall Semester at Mercer County Community College

By Jim Gardner
Registration is now open for fall classes at Mercer County Community College, including new programs designed to give students a competitive advantage in the business world.
Most classes begin Aug. 26, with later-starting classes offered Oct. 1 and Oct. 22. Classes are available on-site at the West Windsor and Trenton campuses, or through MercerOnline.
“Ultimately, our aim is to help our students become more successful, and that begins with helping them become more productive and develop skills that are in demand,” said MCCC President Dr. Patricia Donohue. “Mercer achieves that goal through a variety of offerings to meet the ever-changing needs of the modern workforce.”
New this semester is a certificate program in Advanced Manufacturing Technology, which is designed to prepare students for the modern manufacturing environment, including instruction in team-oriented design, production, quality, and maintenance systems.
Mercer will also offer a new associate degree program in Supply Chain Management, an emerging field that involves the efficient coordination of the manufacturing process, from raw materials to finished product and customer service. Students enrolled in the program will have the opportunity to enroll in Rider’s University bachelor’s degree program in Global Supply Chain Management after graduating from Mercer.
Mercer offers 70 associate degree and 30 certificate programs, many in career areas with projected job growth, including health professions, education, business, law enforcement, and computer technology. Through the University Center at Mercer, students who complete their associate degree are eligible to transfer into bachelor’s degree programs offered on the Mercer campus through partnerships with William Paterson University, Rutgers University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, and Felician College.
