A Camden man has been charged with the murder of a taxi driver in Burlington City.

A Camden man has been charged with the murder of a taxi driver in Burlington City.
Surveillance cameras at the Trenton Train Station revealed Carey L. Coleman Jr., 22, of Camden, entered a cab driven by Larry Hamilton, 47, of Trenton, at approximately 1 a.m. June 16, police said.
Later that morning, Burlington City police found Mr. Hamilton’s vehicle had crashed into a utility pole at the intersection of Route 130 North and York Street, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office.
Officers who responded found Mr. Hamilton dead inside the vehicle, police said.
Burlington County Medical Examiner Dr. Ian Hood concluded Mr. Hamilton died as the result of a single gunshot to the head, according to the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office.
Police recovered a .32 caliber handgun from the home of Mr. Coleman’s girlfriend, according to the Prosecutor’s Office.
Mr. Coleman has been charged with one count of first-degree murder. Police took him into custody July 1 without incident at a relative’s house in Woodbury on an outstanding municipal court warrant by detectives from the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office and members of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office Fugitive Unit.
Mr. Coleman was transported to the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office where Judge Terrence R. Cook signed the warrant for murder and set bail at $500,000, according to the Prosecutor’s Office.
