This year’s Freedom Fest State Fair has returned to the Horse Park of New Jersey, Route 524, Upper Freehold Township.
Musical acts will perform in the main arena, and fairgoers can sit in the covered pavilion while enjoying the concerts.
The event runs through July 14.
On July 11, “Country & Western Night” with Lindsay Highlander is scheduled to take the stage. July 12 brings Eryn Shewell, along with a fireworks display at 10 p.m.
The weekend features other national acts. On July 13, “Southern Rock Fest” will feature the Marshall Tucker Band, while the Little River Band will play on Sunday evening for “70s & 80s Rockfest.”
All the performances begin at 8 p.m., with the exception of the Little River Band, which will begin at 7 p.m.
Other acts include hypnotist Catherine Hickland, Robinson’s Racing Pigs, Kountry K-9 Show, and “Lizard Lick Towing & Recovery” from truTV.
The fair has amusement rides by Reithoffer Shows. July 13 features a pay-one-price rides matinee from noon to 5 p.m. for $25. The indoor arena will host a petting farm, as well as the Monmouth County Master Gardeners. On July 13, local produce will be offered for sale. Other agricultural events include herb tasting, honey making, kid-friendly activities and gardening shows.
The Autumn Riders Horse Show will feature equestrian performances.
General admission to the festival is $10 for adults, $5 for senior citizens, $5 for children under 10, and no charge for children 4 years old or younger. Military personnel with a valid ID also receive free admission.
There is no additional charge to attend the concerts.
The fair is open through July 12 from 5-11 p.m., July 13 from noon to 11 p.m. and July 14 from noon to 10 p.m.
The Horse Park of New Jersey is located on Exit 11 of Interstate 195 in Upper Freehold.
