Senior Center activities
The Manville Senior Center opens weekdays in Fire Company No. 1 at 20 So. Third Ave.
The center is open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
A suggested lunch donation of $1.50 is recommended for individuals age 60 and older. The cost of lunch for those younger than age 60 is $5.35. Call 908-369-8700 before 10:30 a.m. the day before to make a lunch reservation.
Transportation is available for those who do not drive.
Creative movement exercises are led Wednesdays, 10:15-11 a.m. An aerobic chair exercise class is sponsored every Monday and Wednesday, 8:45-9:45 a.m.
A healthy bones exercise class is held every Tuesday and Thursday, 9:30-11 a.m. Advance registration and a doctor’s note are required.

Fri., July 12 — Training demonstration by the Somerset County 4H Woof Club.
Mon., July 15 — Mind Your Mind: Memory retrieval exercises.
Tues., July 16 — The three-letter game.
Thurs., July 18 — Free blood pressure screenings by Laura Cummings of Visiting Nurse Association of Somerset Hills.
Fri., July 19 — Operation Shoebox community service project, packing candy bags.
Mon., July 22 — Visit to the Quail Brook Senior Center in Somerset for “Timeline New Jersey Program” by New Jersey photographer Walter Choroszewski, 10:30 a.m. Travel on a timeline from the primeval dawn of the Highlands through the Ice Age up to the present. Meet New Jersey’s first people and explorers, and take pride in the rich colonial and revolutionary heritage.
Thurs., July 25 — Barbara Gerson of Art4All School will teach the basics to create a sunset silhouette in watercolors at a “lunch and learn” workshop from 1-2:30 p.m. Workshop is appropriate for all levels of artistic abilities, including beginners.
Fri., July 26 — “Celebrating Our Cultures” by Dale L. Ofei-Ayisis, COPSA Geriatric Services.
