The Bordentown Library will offer a variety of events this August.
”Big Blocks for Babies” will take place Thursday, Aug. 1, and Thursday, Aug. 15, at 10:30 a.m. Babies will have loads of fun creating, while learning colors, shapes, concepts such as shape relations, and practicing manual dexterity.
”Legos for Tweens” will take place Thursday, Aug. 1, and Thursday, Aug. 15, at 10: 30 a.m. Teens can let their imaginations soar while creating whatever structures they like, just as long as they fit in the program room. A snack will be provided.
Early childhood developmental activities are being offered Tuesday, Aug. 6, at 10:30 a.m. This program is designed to engage both caregiver and child in practicing gross and fine motor skills, using kits and games.
The “Family Sing-A-Long” will take place Thursday, Aug. 8, at 10:30 a.m. and will feature Kim Yarsen. Children ages 18 to 35 months are invited to sing songs and try a little guitar playing too.
”Teen Movie Night” is Thursday, Aug. 8, at 6 p.m. Teens are invited to enjoy a fun summertime movie. Refreshments will be served.
”Fun on a String” is being offered Tuesday, Aug. 13, at 3 p.m. The thrill and magic of puppetry will come alive with hand puppets, hand-and-rod puppets and marionettes. This program will be held at the Bordentown Regional Middle School.
”Chess for Tweens and Teens” will take place Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 2 p.m. A great way to get acquainted with other chess lovers, the library supplies the chess sets during this event.
”Boardwalk Arcade at the Library” is scheduled for Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 2 p.m. Bring the competition to this fun summertime-themed “arcade.” Enjoy refreshments as the games heat up.
Registration is necessary for some programs. For children’s programs, registration begins two weeks in advance at the library, online or by calling 609-298-0622.
Unless otherwise noted, library services and programs are held at 18 E. Union St., Bordentown. Library hours are Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
