EAST WINDSOR: Car severs utility pole

A car hit a utility pole on Route 130 near the intersection with Hankins Road on July 17.
East Windsor police responded to the accident on Route 130 southbound at approximately 2:14 p.m. The car, driven by Dennis Culnan, 39, of Mount Laurel, left the road and severed the utility pole, leaving a portion of the pole hanging from utility wires, police said.
Emergency medical personnel evaluated the driver, who did not report any injuries, police said.
The East Windsor Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 also responded to the scene of the accident due to hanging utility wires, according to police.
One lane of Route 130 southbound traffic had to be closed while the utility pole was repaired. The New Jersey Department of Transportation assisted with traffic management and control, police said.
