Members give sermon during summer

Who is that person and why are they giving the sermon?
During the summer months, members of the synagogue are given the opportunity to give the Saturday sermon. This has been going on for a number of years and continues this summer.
On Aug. 3, Zeke Herman will talk about “The Second Greatest Jews.”
The bima is Marshall Alter’s on Aug. 10. Who would think a dentist would talk about “The Israeli Dentistry System?”
Aug. 17 gives Michael Benson a chance to talk about “The Torah of Life: Everything We Do is Holy.”
As for the following weeks, Len Steinberg talks about “Science and Judaism.” Then, Fred Passman’s subject is walking in Ha’Shem’s ways.
The Maple Stream Road Preschool is accepting applications for the fall. Synagogue members get a 10 percent discount. You can reach them at 609-448-1144. Their website is www.MapleStreamRoadPreschool.net.
The Israeli Affairs Committee is looking for people with current knowledge of Israel’s technical and business innovations. The group meets once a month. Interested Israelis, knowledgeable non-Israelis and individuals with computer skills are wanted.
Trenton Thunder Jewish Heritage Night is Thursday, Aug. 21, at 7:05 p.m. Call the synagogue if you’re interested.
