    The Parish of Saints Francis and Clare will hold its annual American Red Cross Blood Drive on Thursday, Aug. 8 from 3 to 8 p.m. in McGrath Hall in the Riverbank Charter School, located on Hornberger Avenue in Roebling.

    This year, the American Red Cross is also offering great incentive programs. All donors will be entered in a drawing for two tickets to Super Bowl XLVIII at the Met Life Stadium. In addition, all donors will receive a gift card from Dunkin Donuts for a free donut and a Dunkin Donut iced coffee.
    Remember that blood supplies run dangerously low in the summer months and people need donations. One pint can save up to three lives. Help save a life/lives on Aug. 8.
    The Willitts-Hogan-Tonne American Legion Auxiliary would like to thank the following ladies for their donations of yarn, material or finished items for its veterans at Veterans Haven: Mary and Betty Bunnick, Maryann and Linda Napolitan, Marie Gyyenge and Irene Horvath.
    The auxiliary has completed over 100 crocheted scarves for delivery in October. The auxiliary also has afghans and lap robes going to the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Unit at Lourdes Hospital in Willingboro, and is currently working on senior bibs for the Clare Estates. These will be ongoing projects.

    The Willitts-Hogan-Tonne Post 39 in Roebling will host its installation of officers on July 27 at the post home on 4th Avenue.
    The ceremony and dinner costs $10 per person. There will be a cash bar and door prizes. The event starts at 4 p.m.

    Roebling Museum’s 7-acre grounds, formerly a steel mill yard, will be humming with cars for the fourth annual car show July 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
    The Roebling Company once produced the Mercer Automobile, manufactured in Trenton at the turn of the 20th century, and is considered America’s first sport’s car. At least one Mercer automobile will on view at this year’s show.
    Teaming with the Bordentown Yacht Club to sponsor the show, the museum’s lawn will showcase cars, trucks and street rods. Awards, sponsored by many local dealerships and businesses, will be presented in all vehicle classes.
    New car dealers will be lining the entrance, music will be provided by Cruzin Tunes. A full day of family entertainment is planned with door prizes, raffles and food choices offered by local vendors and restaurants.
    Included in the $5 admission to the show is admission to the Roebling Museum that is dedicated to telling the story of John A. Roebling’s Sons Company, the village of Roebling and the innovations and technological achievements of the family that changed the industrialized world.

    The Nothing But The Word Deliverance Church at 2071 Route 130 in Florence will host its first Community Health Fair on Saturday, July 27, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
    There will be many health vendors on the scene to check blood pressure, blood sugars, cholesterol, oxygen intake, heart rate and body fat percentage. There will also be fingerprinting kits, bike helmet safety tips, fire prevention and safety guidelines, yoga presentations, food tasting, face painting and balloon sculpting by KeKe the Clown. The event will also feature a finance seminar and door prizes. This is a free event open to everyone.
    The Fountain of Life Center at 2035 Columbus Road in Florence Township is gearing up for a Labor Day weekend of fun and activities with something for everyone.
    The Life Center Academy Warrior 5K Race will take place Saturday, Aug. 31. Registration is $25 in advance, $30 day of race. Those who register by Aug. 20 will receive a free race shirt. Online registration will close at 4:30 a.m. Aug. 30. The race starts at 8:30 a.m. and there will be awards for the top three overall males and females. Participants can enjoy a great run through the country and around the cornfields of the area. To register, visit www.flcnj.org.
    The Life Center Academy Car Show will begin on Saturday at 9 a.m., with registration on-site from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The cost is $15 per vehicle. Trophies and prizes will be awarded at 2 p.m. A DJ will provide “oldies but goodies” music. For more information, call Nick at 856-630-0940.
