MANVILLE: Car show looks for enthusiasts

Annual car show coming Aug. 3 to high school

By Mary Ellen Day, Special Writer
The eighth annual car show by the Manville High School Music Organization and the Full Throttle Car Club will be held Saturday, Aug. 3, on the Manville High School fields facing Bleecher Street. The free show runs from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and the rain date will be Sunday, Aug. 4.
Al Tomari, co-organizer band enthusiast and former band parent is hoping for good weather. Last year’s show brought out 80 cars and Mr. Tomari is hoping to have as many this year.
The Manville High School Music Organization helps raise funds for needed items for the school music programs. In the past the group has helped fund trips and raincoats for the band members.
In June the group ran the Jazz under the Stars event. It also sponsors a spaghetti dinner during the year.
The organization is looking for car owners to participate in the show. To display a car, the cost is $20 a space.
For information call 908-526-2998 or e-mail [email protected]. Car owners can pre-register or just come on Saturday morning. Vendors are also wanted for the show. Contact The Full Throttle Car Club.
There will be food for sale. Trophies will be presented in several categories.
