ROBBINSVILLE: National Night Out planned for Aug. 6

Sixth annual event to include free food, other attractions

ROBBINSVILLE — The public is invited to the township’s sixth annual National Night Out on Aug. 6.
   National Night Out is a nationwide crime and drug prevention event designed to bring the community and local police and other public safety and civic groups together.
   The event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. behind the Robbinsville Township Police Department headquarters at 1117 Route 130.
   Police expect this year’s event to be its largest to date. There will be free food, including hot dogs, corn on the cob, watermelon and popcorn. The event also will feature snow cones and cotton candy as well as a waterslide, obstacle course, tiger bounce and other games for kids.
   In addition, there will be more than a dozen civic organizations and a local dance group performing as well as pony rides, a petting zoo and fingerprinting.
   There will be a dunk tank where participants can dunk Mayor Dave Fried, Assemblyman Wayne DeAngelo, D-14, juvenile Detective and School Resource Officer Peter Galazka and newly retired police Sgt. Vincent Estelle.
