A 17-year-old Manville boy was arrested Tuesday and charged with aggravated sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl on April 12.
In a release, County Prosecutor Geoffrey Soriano and Manville Police Chief Mark Peltack said the girl said she was approached that day by a boy, and she was made to follow him to a home in the borough, where he allegedly sexually assaulted her.
Detectives from the Manville police and county prosecutor’s office identified the teen defendant through a social media network, police said.
He was charged with the first-degree crime and lodged in the Middlesex County Juvenile Detention Center, police said.
