CHAPTER A
Chapter A is singing along with Mitch Miller on Friday, Aug. 23, at 1 p.m. in the Senior Activity Room. There will be a quiz to test your “musical smarts.” Our music director will lead us in song. Light refreshments.
Photo albums with pictures of activities from the past will be displayed at future meetings. Come early and take a trip down memory lane. Please do not remove any of the pictures.
Membership Chairwoman Loretta Tansey will conduct a class on “flip cell phones” on Thursday, Aug. 15, in the Senior Activity Room. If you have a flip cell phone and would like to learn to utilize more of its features, sign up with Loretta. Class will be limited to six participants.
Our next meeting will be today, Aug. 1. If you are wearing your nametag you will receive two (not one, but two) tickets for the raffle at the end of the meeting. The Hillsborough Rockettes, a favorite dance team of ours, will perform.
Remember your food item for the Hillsborough Food Bank, which is reaching out to more families in town.
Our meetings start at 12:30 p.m. and all Hillsborough seniors age 60 and older are invited. Dues are $5 a year and new members may join at any meeting. Doors open at 11:30 a.m., allowing time to review upcoming events and make reservations. Refreshments are served after the meeting.
Members may at any time contribute kitchen supplies coffee, decaf, napkins, plastic sandwich bags, etc.

Executive Board meetings are the fourth Wednesday of every month unless otherwise noted.
Remember, the suggestion box is available to you. Also, you can dispose of unused prescription drugs at any time in a box in the police department.

Our next trip to the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City is on Monday, Aug. 5. The trip is open to members and non-members (over 21) for $30, with $25 returned. Departs at 9 a.m. from Kohl’s parking lot, and returns at about 7:30 p.m. Call Jo at 908-359-6418 for reservations. Pay on bus.
Fri., Aug. 9 Trip to Monmouth Racetrack and dinner at (our favorite) Basile’s Restaurant in Freehold. Departure from Kohl’s parking lot at 11 a.m. Cost is $74.
Sun., Aug. 18 Annual Chapter A picnic at the Falcon Club on Falcon Road. Hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, sweet corn, salads and watermelon by Elmer’s Catering. Games and prizes! Noon to 4 p.m. Cost is $15, refunded at event.
Fri., Sept. 13 “Kiss Me Kate” at the Westchester Dinner Theater in Elmsford, N.Y. Departure from Kohl’s parking lot at 9:45 a.m. Cost is $92.
Wed., Oct. 9 Annual appreciation lunch for all Chapter A members with bingo following the meal in the multi-purpose room at the Municipal Building at 11:30 a.m. Cost is $12, refunded at event to members.
Bingo will resume in September.

CHAPTER B
The next meeting will be Aug. 8, our annual “picnic” in the air-conditioned comfort in the Municipal Building. Be sure to bring your ticket for admission to this special event.
All regular meetings begin at 12:30 p.m. in the municipal building. Registration for trips begins at 11 a.m.
There will be special entertainment by the Metropolitan Festival Band, which features a keyboard, sax and vocalists. Come out and enjoy good food, live music, and great company.
Members wearing their name badges will be eligible for a drawing at the end of the meeting for a special gift. Be sure to wear your badge!

A day trip to Monmouth Raceway is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 23. The cost is $70, which includes the entrance fee, a program with grandstand seating and dinner at 5:30 p.m. at Basile’s Restaurant in Freehold. ’.
On Thursday, Sept. 19, bingo is back at the meeting.
A trip to Cooperstown, N.Y., is scheduled for Sept. 24-26. This trip includes transportation, three days and two nights’ lodging, breakfasts, two dinners and tours of the Baseball Hall of Fame, Farmers’ Museum, Fenimore Museum of Art, Ommegang Brewery and Fly Creek Cider Mill. The cost is $317. Payments are due at the August meeting.
On Wednesday, Oct. 16, celebrate Octoberfest at Mt. Haven Lodge in Milford, Pa. This includes a full country breakfast, use of resort facilities, super bingo, four-hour open bar with German beer, dinner buffet with special dessert, and live DJ with dancing for $72. Transportation is included.
On Wednesday, Nov. 13, a trip is planned to Mt. Airy Lodge and Casino in Pennsylvania. This includes a full lunch buffet, $25 slot return, and a “Rat Pack” show remembering Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. The cost is $62. Tickets on sale at the August meeting. New: Somerset Medical Center’s Urgent Care Center is open on Route 206 across from Kinder Care, seven days a week from 8 to 8 weekdays and 9-4 on weekends.
