Solomon Schechter Day School of Greater Monmouth County, Marlboro, will host a dedication ceremony for its new media and music centers at 6 p.m. Aug. 29. The media center, which was converted from the former school library and computer room, is slated to open in September and will be used by students and faculty.

New Movement Dance Center, a dance studio at 4782 Route 9 south, Howell, will hold a grand-opening celebration beginning at noon Aug. 24. The event will offer free dance classes, a DJ, face painting and more. Owner and director Dawn M. Clayton has been dancing for more than 22 years and teaching for 14 years, and welcomes students of all ages to a variety of dance programs and styles. Chick-fil-A celebrated a grand-opening celebration on Aug. 8 at its new location in the Freehold Raceway Mall, Freehold Township. As part of the chain’s signature “First 100” grand-opening celebration, the first 100 adults in line at opening were eligible to receive a free Chick-fil-A meal per week for a year. The Freehold Township location is the third of three openings in New Jersey this year, and according to a press release, the new site will create 40 new jobs. The chain, best known for its signature menu item of a boneless breast of chicken sandwich, pressure-cooked and served on a toasted buttered bun with pickle chips, now operates 24 restaurants in New Jersey.

Board-certified general surgeon Mary T. Martucci, D.O., has joined CentraState Healthcare System as the medical director of the health care system’s comprehensive breast care program.

Dr. Martucci earned her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a residency in general surgery at Mercy Suburban Hospital, Norristown, Pa. In addition, she completed a fellowship in breast surgical oncology at the Fox Chase Cancer Center, Philadelphia.

Dr. Martucci specializes in the surgical treatment of breast cancer and other diseases of the breast. She is accepting new patients, and her office is in CentraState’s Star and Barry Tobias Ambulatory Campus, 901 W. Main St., Freehold Township. To schedule an appointment, call 855-411-2262.

UFC Gym in Marlboro will hold the grand opening of its new facility with an open house on Aug. 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Members and guests of all ages are welcome to stop by for tours, free classes with a DJ spinning music, food, prizes, oneon one fitness assessments and more. UFC Gym will waive the $199 enrollment fee and extend additional membership benefits to those taking out a gym membership at the open house. The Learning Disabilities Association of New Jersey invites parents, people with learning disabilities and professionals to a conference from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 6 at Rutgers University, Busch Campus Center, Piscataway.

“Navigate the Maze From Pre-K to College and Career” will feature keynote speaker Peter W. Riffle, a nationally recognized educator and a person with learning disabilities.

His book “The Cloud Chaser” presents a grassroots approach for teachers of students with learning disabilities and for parents of children with special needs.

Topics will include typical development or signs of learning disabilities, classroom survival skills for students, parents and teachers, the emotional impact of learning disability, navigating New Jersey services for all ages, transitioning to college, and making the jump from school to employment.

Freehold LeTip will sponsor a blood drive with New Jersey Blood Services from 6:30 to 11 a.m. Aug. 22 at the American Hotel, Freehold.
