MERCER: County sheriff provides free child seat inspections

Events at Colonial Volunteer Fire Company, 810 Kuser Road, Hamilton, on the last Tuesday of each month

Mercer County Sheriff’s Office conducts child seat safety inspections on a monthly basis for local residents.
As part of a national campaign to help parents properly secure their children in motor vehicles, free child safety seat inspections are conducted by trained and certified sheriff’s officers.
Mercer County Sheriff Jack Kemler brings his officers to the Colonial Volunteer Fire Company, 810 Kuser Road in Hamilton, on the last Tuesday of each month to inspect child safety seats on-site.
”I am pleased to provide this service on a regular basis to our community, at a convenient location and during hours which most families find convenient,” said Sheriff Kemler. “There is usually no wait to have your car seat inspected and the entire safety check takes no more than 10 minutes,” Sheriff Kemler added.
Car seats are inspected from 4:30-8 p.m. on the last Tuesday of each month (there will be no inspections in December due to New Year’s Eve).
Inspections take place in a weather-protected area in the rear of the facility. For more information on the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office child safety seat inspection program, contact Detective Jason Salvatore at 609-278-7159.
