A n exhibit of images by photographer and Long Branch native Joan B. Myers is on display through Sept. 8 at Anytime Dance Studio/Gallery of the Arts in Long Branch.
Myers envisions photography and dance as sharing the common element of movement. Her work is known for composition and design that “moves” the viewer into the photograph. Myers focuses on pristine composition, vivid colors, shapes, patterns and altered perceptions. Her photographs also comment on the neglect of historical places such as Officer’s Row, Fort Hancock at Sandy Hook and the former Lifesaving Station No. 5 at the Takanassee Beach Club in Long Branch.
Myers studied film and digital photography at Brookdale Community College, and has studied with Laurie Egan since 2009.
She has exhibited widely, including at the Art Alliance of Monmouth County, the Guild of Creative Art, Bayonet Farms Art Show, Belmar Arts Council, Center for Visual Arts at Brookdale, Monmouth Festival of the Arts, Monmouth Museum and more.
Anytime Dance Studio’s gallery is located at 104 Brighton Ave. in Long Branch.
