The Orchards at Bartley, Jackson, has once again been awarded the distinction of Advanced Standing by the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services and the Health Care Association of New Jersey, a voluntary program open to all licensed assisted living residences and comprehensive personal care homes in New Jersey that have high standards and meet compliance regulations.

Facilities that receive Advanced Standing must comply with all applicable local, state and federal regulations, as well as submit quality data that reaches benchmarks established by a peer review panel.

Once all regulations are satisfactorily met and the quality measures meet the established benchmarks, the Department of Health makes the final determination on Advanced Standing.

The Howell Chamber of Commerce will now hold its breakfast bonanzas at 8 a.m. on Tuesdays at Calgo Gardens, 462 Adelphia-Farmingdale Road, Howell. All are welcome to attend. The cost is $5 for chamber members and $10 for nonmembers and includes coffee and a light breakfast. Details: 732-919-7770.

New Movement Dance Center, a dance studio at 4782 Route 9 South, Howell, will hold a grand opening celebration beginning at noon Aug. 24. The event will offer free dance classes, a DJ, face painting and more. Owner and director Dawn M. Clayton has been dancing for more than 22 years and teaching for 14 years and welcomes students of all ages to a variety of dance programs and styles. Board-certified general surgeon Mary T. Martucci, D.O., has joined CentraState Healthcare System as the medical director of the healthcare system’s comprehensive breast care program.

Dr. Martucci earned her medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed a residency in general surgery at Mercy Suburban Hospital, Norristown, Pa.

In addition, she completed a fellowship in breast surgical oncology at the Fox Chase Cancer Center, Philadelphia, Pa.

Dr. Martucci specializes in the surgical treatment of breast cancer and other diseases of the breast. Dr. Martucci is accepting new patients. United Water announced that the company has awarded its Academic Achievement Scholarship to Eleanor Osborne, who recently graduated from Howell High School.

This scholarship, awarded annually to a son or daughter of an employee, recognizes demonstrated excellence in academics, outstanding leadership, community service and personal integrity.

Eleanor is the daughter of Paul and Joan Osborne. Paul is employed in the Operations Department in the Mid-Atlantic Division’s Manalapan facility.

In addition to maintaining an A average, excelling in English, Spanish and math, Eleanor participated in track and field and cross country. She was a member of the Howell Organization for Protecting the Environment (HOPE) at the high school. Eleanor tutored her peers in history and Spanish.

She also participated in “Rebels Care,” a volunteer program that provided food and assistance to the residents of the encampment known as Tent City in Lakewood. In the fall, Eleanor will major in international relations, concentrating in Latin American Studies, at James Madison University, Harrisonburg, Va.

Dr. C. Robert Montgomery Jr. has opened a new dental practice, The Relaxing Smile, at 505 Stillwells Corner Road, Unit C-2, Freehold Township. Montgomery is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University Dental School, Cleveland, Ohio, and he completed his dental residency at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick. Outdoor retailer L.L. Bean has announced the expansion of its retail presence into the Freehold market. The new 25,000- square-foot store is scheduled to open in mid-September and will be located in the space previously occupied by the Borders bookstore in the Freehold Raceway Mall, Freehold Township.

According to a press release, the store will employ about 100 people and will feature two levels showcasing a variety of casual apparel, footwear and outdoor gear and apparel, including hiking, fly-fishing, kayaking and camping products. This will be L.L.Bean’s third retail store in New Jersey, with locations currently in Marlton and Paramus.
