   The third annual Car and Motorcycle Show will be held at St. Stephens Episcopal Church on Sept. 21.
   The church is on West Second Street at the corner of Spring Street.
   There also will be a Chili Cook-off with a $5 donation for a table spot.
   Show hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Second Street from Broad Street will be closed as well as Spring Street from Front Street to Third Street from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
   Registration for the show will be from 8 to 11 a.m. Show cars will enter on Winter Street off West Front Street. There will be trailer parking in front of the old Duffy School by appointment by calling Mike Potpinka at 609-351 5859.

   There will a pre-show kickoff dinner held Sept. 14 in the Parish Hall at the church. Last year’s dinner was attended by approximately 70 so tickets will go fast. The price of the ticket is $12. Contact Jerry Sandusky at 609-1558 for tickets.
   The Florence Historical Society will hold an open house Saturday, Sept. 21, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the old firehouse at 25 W. Third St.
   On display will be artifacts, memorabilia, high school yearbooks and photographs.
   The images will be for sale as well as original coat racks from the Duffy School. There is no admission fee, but donations are welcome. Come to the door on the right side of the building and spend some time sharing Florence history.

   Rocco’s Pizza is hosting a benefit for Burlington City Animal Alliance on Tuesday, Sept. 10, from 6 to 9 p.m.
   BCAA helps homeless cats and dogs and sponsors go home. There is low-cost spaying and neutering clinics for cats. Mention BCAA, and Rocco’s donates 10 percent of all orders.

   St. Nicholas Byzantine Parish will be holding its annual festival Sunday, Sept. 8, from noon to 6 p.m.
   This year, it will be a joint event with our neighboring parish, St. Mary Byzantine (Romanian) Church.
   It will be held at the St, Nicholas picnic grove on Norman Avenue in Roebling.
   This is a European celebration featuring The Continental Gypsies for listening and dancing pleasure. The festival is a great gathering place for friends and families to enjoy all their favorite old country foods, including homemade cakes and pastries.
   The price of admission is $2 Children under 13 will be admitted free with a parent.

   There will be delicious ethnic foods from Slovakia, Romania and Poland. No outside food or beverages will be allowed to be brought into the picnic grove. No pets, please.
   The township would like property owners to know the third-quarter tax grace period has been extended to Sept. 6.
   Payment must be received in the tax office by Sept. 16 to avoid interest. Any payment received after Sept. 16 will be charged interest back to Aug. 1.
   The Willingboro Rita’s Water Ice will host a Celebrity Scoop fundraiser Wednesday, Sept. 4, from 6 to 8 p.m..
   Proceeds will benefit the Burlington County Animal Alliance.
   There will be surprises, including a visit from Ice Guy.

   Don’t forget to register children for Florence Preschool.
   Located at 209 Broad St. in Florence, the school will start classes again in September. The school offers classes for children ages 2-4.

   The Willitts-Hogan-Tonne American Legion Auxiliary has completed more than 100 crocheted scarves for delivery in October.
   The auxiliary also has afghans and lap robes going to the Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Unit at Lourdes Hospital in Willingboro and is working on senior bibs for the Clare Estates. These will be ongoing projects.

   Those who walk by the Roebling Circle in the village of Roebling will see the geraniums.
   Help beautify Roebling by donating $5 to have the Roebling Garden Club plant a flower in honor of a loved one in the Roebling Circle and have your loved one’s name printed in this column.

   The Fountain of Life Center at 2035 Columbus Road in Florence Township is gearing up for a Labor Day weekend of fun and activities with something for everyone.
   The Life Center Academy Warrior 5K Race will take place Saturday, Aug. 31. Registration is $25 in advance and $30 day of race. Those who register by Aug. 20 will receive a free race shirt.
   Online registration will close at 4:30 a.m. Aug. 30.
   The race starts at 8:30 a.m., and there will be awards for the top three overall males and females. Participants can enjoy a run through the country and around the cornfields of the area.

   The Life Center Academy Car Show will begin Saturday at 9 a.m., with registration onsite from 8:30 a.m. to noon. The cost is $15 per vehicle.
