FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP — The Jewish Heritage Museum of Monmouth County will present “An Afternoon with Danny Kaye,” which tells the story of Kaye’s rise from an improvisational comedian to an international film star, on Sept. 29 at 2 p.m. (sold out) and at 5 p.m. Admission is $20 for museum members, $25 for nonmembers, and groups of 10 or more are $22.
The performance, featuring actor Brian Childers, celebrates the 100th anniversary of the birth of the legendary performer in a high-energy performance. Hear many of Kaye’s hit songs, including “Tchaikovsky,” “Minnie the Moocher” and “Anatole of Paris.”
Childers received the 2002 Helen Hayes Award for outstanding leading actor in a musical for his uncanny and entertaining performance as celebrated singer, dancer, actor and comedian Danny Kaye in “Danny and Sylvia: A Musical Love Story,” according to a press release.
