Belle Mead, NJ – Carrier Clinic announced that it will be hosting its third annual
“Walk of Hope” on its Belle Mead campus on Saturday, September 21, 2013. Registration is at 9am, with the walk starting promptly at 10am. This fundraising event is being held to raise awareness for mental health and addiction disorders, and help combat the stigma that is faced by those who suffer with mental illness.
This family-friendly event will feature entertainment by radio sponsor WMGQ 98.3 FM, music by DJ Ken Lieberman, and kid’s games and crafts. Food will be offered to participants courtesy of Philly Pretzel Factory of Hillsborough, Starbucks of Hillsborough, Wegmans, McCaffrey’s, Trader Joes of Princeton, and Sunny Delight. Walk sponsors include NASS Tech, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Electrical Concepts, Gen Psych, Kohl’s, Sodexo, Active Disposal, Financial Resources Federal Credit Union, Modern Office Systems, NovaMed, Access Medical Center, Space Saver, SSP Architectural Group, Inc., Petrock’s and SASCO Insurance Services. Camp Bow Wow of Bridgewater will be on hand to run the doggie look-alike contest at the Doggie Oasis, and Sparkee from the Somerset Patriots will join in the fun!
Our Community Partners will also be on hand offering entertainment, refreshments and information. All those interested in participating can register as individuals or as teams at www.CarrierClinicWalkofHope.org, and every person who raises at least $103 will receive a Walk of Hope t-shirt.
Proceeds raised from the event will benefit Carrier Clinic. Donna Zaleski, Director of Development at Carrier is looking forward to an even bigger event this year. “Carrier Clinic, an independent, non profit behavioral health care system located in Belle Mead, New Jersey, is dedicated to providing outstanding mental health services to more than 5,000 teens, adults and older adult each year,” stated Zaleski. “The money raised at our Walk of Hope is essential for us to continue and grow our mission.”
Carrier Clinic, a private, not-for-profit behavioral healthcare system, specializes in psychiatric and addiction treatment. Carrier’s system includes a 281 licensed bed inpatient psychiatric hospital, 32 bed detoxification and rehabilitation center, a 78 bed adolescent residential facility, and a fully accredited middle and high school for students classified emotionally disturbed.
