Thanks to all who made parades safe

Antonia Ricigliano
Edison Mayor

On Aug. 11, two India Day parades took place in Edison Township. The first, an Iselin-based group, stepped out onto Oak Tree Road at 1:30 p.m. The second, the Oak Tree Indian Business Association (OTIBA) of Edison Township, began at 2:15 p.m. at Baltic Street.

The line of march continued on Oak Tree Road and ended at the Oak Tree Plaza, where dignitaries, marchers and residents gathered for speeches, food, drink and entertainment arranged by the organizers of OTIBA. Special thanks must be extended to the Edison divisions of police and fire, Edison Office of Emergency Management, Edison Police Auxiliary, Raritan Valley Regional EMS, JFK ambulance services, and the Edison departments of health and public works for a job well done. They collectively ensured the safety and well-being of all residents and visitors to our township. Congratulations to all.
