Matawan-Aberdeen library to host September events

The following programs will be held at the Matawan-Aberdeen Public Library in September:

After Hours Music: The Kootz Band

Sept. 13, 7 p.m.

Members of The Kootz hail from Essex, Bergen, Union, Passaic, Sussex and Monmouth counties. They continue to hone their repertoire of covers of classic rock, pop and blues tunes from the late 50s through the 70s.

Investors Rights: When to File a Claim Against Your Broker for Stock Market Losses

Sept. 18, 7 p.m.

Howard Hirschhorn, CPA, will explain how to file a claim if one has lost money in the stock market after following the advice of a broker that was deemed unsuitable. Attendees can learn how to file a claim with the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority against the broker and how to be compensated for the losses.

Identity Theft

Sept. 25, 2 p.m.

A speaker from the Office of the Monmouth County Prosecutor will review the costs of identity theft, the methods in which an identity could be compromised, and what to do if one becomes a victim of identity theft.

How to Get Published

Sept. 25, 7 p.m. According to statistics, 80 percent of Americans would like to get published, but only 10 percent make it happen. Author Teri Huggins will discuss the many options available for publishing, and provide a basic overview about publishing blogs, e-books, traditional books, magazine articles and newspapers.

The life story of Jackie Robinson and his history-making signing with the Brooklyn Dodgers under the guidance of team executive Branch Rickey.

Sept. 23: “Hitchcock” (PG-13)

A love story about influential filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock and his wife Alma Reville during the filming of the thriller “Psycho” in 1959.

Sept. 23: “What Maisie Knew” (R)

In New York City, a young girl is caught in the middle of her parents’ bitter custody battle.
