REGIONAL: ‘Cat and Dogs Days of Summer’ wind down

The Burlington County Freeholders have announced that the “Cat and Dog Days of Summer” adopt-a-pet program is almost over at the Burlington County Animal Shelter.
The program, effective through Aug. 31, features reduced adoption fees.
The reduced adoption fee for dogs will be $40 as opposed to the regular charge of $75. Cat adoption fees have been reduced from $45 to $20.
The shelter provides spayed or neutered animals for adoption in hopes of controlling the county’s animal population.
The county animal shelter is on Academy Drive off Woodlane Road, behind the Burlington County Library, in Westampton Township.
Hours of operation are noon to 7 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays; noon to 4 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays; and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays. The shelter is closed Sundays and holidays.
For more information, call the shelter at 609-265-5073.
