MANVILLE: Ceremonies remember 9/11 attacks

Freeholders to call role of county victims

   Two Hillsborough Township fire companies will hold events remembering the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.
   The Hillsborough Woods Road Fire Company will hold a memorial ceremony at its firehouse, 324 Woods Road, at 7 p.m. There will be a color guard, playing of taps, and a reading of the names of the fallen 9-11 first responders.
   Fire Company No. 2, Station 37, will hold its annual ceremony from 9:45 to about 10:30 at firehouse Station 37, located at 375 Route 206. Names of the first responders killed in the terrorist attack that day will be read. If planning to attend, arrive between 9:15 and 9:30 a.m.
   —Members of the Somerset County Board of Freeholders will place a wreath at the county’s 9/11 memorial at the corner of Main and Bridge streets in Somerville.
   At 8:46 a.m., the ceremony will begin with a brief tolling of the bell at the top of the nearby historic courthouse. The freeholders will read the names of the 39 county residents killed in the attacks 12 years ago.
