MANVILLE: Seniors can learn tips on being prepared

Seniors are invited to reminisce about their first school days Friday, Sept. 20, in the Manville Senior Center

   Seniors are invited to reminisce about their first school days Friday, Sept. 20, in the Manville Senior Center at Fire Company No. 1 at 20 So. Third Ave. The center is open Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
   A suggested lunch donation of $1.50 is recommended for individuals age 60 and older. The cost of lunch for those younger than age 60 is $5.35. Call 908-369-8700 before 10:30 a.m. the day before to make a lunch reservation.
   Transportation is available for those who do not drive.
   Bingo is played every Wednesday at 11:15 a.m.
   Birthdays are celebrated on the fourth Wednesday of the month.
   &Creative movement exercises are led Wednesdays, 10:15-11 a.m. An aerobic chair exercise class is sponsored every Monday and Wednesday, 8:45-9:45 a.m.
   A healthy bones exercise class is held every Tuesday and Thursday, 9:30-11 a.m. Advance registration and a doctor’s note are required.
   Tai chi is held every Friday, 9:30-10:30 a.m. Advance registration is required.

   Mon., Sept. 23 — Music medley trivia.
   Tues., Sept. 24 — “Taste & See: Healthy Eating” by Jeanette Grimes, American Diabetes Association.
   Thurs., Sept. 26 — “Stress Management & Relaxation Techniques” by Kessler Rehabilitation Center.
   Fri., Sept. 27 — “Standing Tall Against Falls.” Caitlin Witucki from the Somerset County Office on Aging & Disability Services will discuss ways to avoid falls and minimize injuries. September is Fall Prevention Awareness Month.
   Mon., Sept. 30 — Mind Your Mind: Flexible-thinking exercises.
