Mrs. Brett, 71, of East Brunswick, died Sept. 3, 2013, at home. Prior to her retirement in 1997, she was a registered nurse at Saint Peter’s University Hospital, where she worked for 15 years. Surviving are her husband, Harry Brett; a son, Harry Brett and his wife, Kendra, of Aurora, Colo.; two daughters, Kathleen Mulqueen and her husband, Tim, of Lakewood Ranch, Fla., and Ellen Orthwien and her husband, Dolph, of Atlanta; two brothers, Frank Heffernan of Monterville, W.Va., and Michael Heffernan of Slatington, Pa.; a sister, Ruth Owens of Metuchen; and four grandchildren. A Mass was offered at Immaculate Conception Church, Spotswood. Cremation was private. Arrangements were by Rezem Funeral Home, East Brunswick.
