Georgian Court University to host public events

LAKEWOOD — The fall edition of “Mosaic” — Georgian Court University’s guide to entertainment, educational, spiritual and cultural events open to the public — is now available. Tickets for events ranging from Victorian Parlor Games to a high-society holiday social are on sale.

Sponsored by the McAuley Community Center, the booklet also includes the Lions’ athletic schedule and a list of events for the McAuley Institute for Lifelong Learning.

These include the “Adventures in Fine Art” series, with lectures on mannerism and impressionism; “Musical Storytelling” with Maestro Anthony LaGruth of the Garden State Philharmonic, with lectures on what makes a symphony and the myths and legends surrounding Mozart; and the “Lectures- In-Song” with Fred Miller, focusing on Frank Loesser and Alan Jay Lerner. Tickets are $37 each, and the lectures all start at 6:30 p.m.

Ryan will speak at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 19 in the Little Theatre. Tickets are $5 in advance, $15 at the door, and free to Georgian Court community members.
