MILLSTONE — The governing body formally adopted a measure requiring employees to reimburse the township for money paid by the town for courses, if the employee separated from service with the township within two years of completing the course.
According to a copy of the adopted ordinance on the township website, the employee must reimburse the township should they become employed with another governmental entity within six months of ceasing their employment with Millstone.
The ordinance also reads that no final paycheck shall be issued to an employee who is liable for any reimbursement payments under the new law.
When the measure was introduced in September, officials noted the ordinance would not apply to retiring employees.
